Here is my latest furniture makeover.
Remember this roll top desk?
She's a great piece, just not my style.
I saw her potential.
I wasn't sure how difficult painting her would be. But I turned to my trusty Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (ASCP)in Paris Gray and started painting. A few hours later...here is how she turned out.
And the inside....
I painted the brass drawer pulls with Rustoleum Dark Bronze spray paint. I also thought it would be fun to paint the inside of the drawers in ASCP Duck Egg blue.
And distressed.
I just adore her and all her shabby-chic glory.
My only dilemma now is do I keep her or do I sell her (gasp!)?

This is fantastic, I have a roll top desk to paint, was it hard getting up the top? It's what's been putting me off

@Mel - it wasn't as hard as I thought painting the roll top part. I did take some watered down paint and a very tiny paint brush to get in the actual grooves of the rolls. Hope this makes sense! Oh - and I didn't wax the roll top but did everything else.

Did you sand it first? What was your prep process? I am thinking of doing this to our little roll top. Any advice would be awesome!
@Kristi - There was no prep necessary since I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I did a quick wipe with a damp cloth to remove any dust and then got to painting. If you were going to use regular latex paint, I would imagine you would need to sand down the wood pretty well or even strip it? Hope this helps!
